Element Details

In addition to properties that directly impact logic execution, model element properties may include additional information, called metadata, that provide background or clarification. These are accessed through the Details panel.

The Details panel can be opened in several ways:

  • Via the icon that appears when hovering over a diagram shape

  • Via the Details… action on the context menu for a shape

  • Via the Details button on the Home ribbon

  • Via the icon for a datatype in the Data Type panel

Details for the model as a whole, accessed from the Home ribbon Details button.

The following attributes can be edited from the Details panel:

Reuse

For an element or datatype reused by reference from the Digital Enterprise Graph, several of the fields are not editable, but Details includes a Reuse section.

The Reuse section displays the name of the reused element or type and the source model where it is defined. The icon, when closed, indicates the element is sync’ed to the source. It may be edited only in the source model, and any edits in the source model are propagated to the reused element. Clicking the closed lock opens it, meaning it is no longer sync’d to the source and may be edited in the current model. Clicking the icon removes any relationship to the source element.

Overlays

In the overlay ( overlay ) right side panel, there is an option to turn on the overlays to visually see most of the details defined in the panel.
